Since graduating from UBC's Teacher Education program in 2014, Melodie has had the opportunity to teach music in North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Burnaby and be a choral clinician for several secondary schools in the lower mainland. She has now settled into her dream job as choir director at Seycove Secondary, where she conducts seven choral ensembles. She aspires to continue to uphold Seycove's choral reputation and provide a safe space for students to experience the exhilarating and transformative act that is singing with others. An active chorister herself, Melodie is known for her vocal versatility and she enjoys singing a wide variety of repertoire with many different ensembles. A few of the noteworthy choirs she has sung with include the Tokiwagi Gakuen choir in Japan, the University of Manitoba Singers, Winnipeg’s Camerata Nova, the Postmodern Camerata, and the St. Andrew’s-Wesley Vocal Ensemble. This is her second season with Phoenix and she hopes she'll be around for many more!
