On October 29, 2017, Phoenix will start off the season with an outstanding program.
At 6:45, the evening will begin with a Q&A with Artistic Director, Graeme Langager, and Artist-in-Residence, Jake Runestad.
The concert downbeat is at 7:30 at Ryerson United Church. The Passing of the Year features two of our generation’s leading choral composers—Jonathan Dove, one of Britain’s most innovative living composers, and Jake Runestad, a rising star in the American choral scene. The title work is Dove’s extended composition for double choir and piano, and we are thrilled to collaborate once again with celebrated Canadian pianist, Terence Dawson. Jake Runestad will join us for this concert for the Canadian premiere performance of his “Let My Love Be Heard.”
BCMEA Honour Choir joins Phoenix for this very special concert. The Honour Choir is comprised of some of the best high-school aged singers in the province, and is conducted by Graeme Langager. The Honour Choir will sing a selection on their own, and will join Phoenix for the powerful concert finale: "And So I Go On".
