Michelle Hartley

A native of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Michelle holds a Music Degree in Piano Performance from Mount Allison University and a Music Education Degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. After teaching and performing in Halifax, NS, Michelle was inspired to return to formal piano and choral studies in New Jersey where she completed her Masters of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. Outside of her piano studies at Westminster, Michelle enjoyed touring the US with the Westminster Choir, fell in love with early vocal music with Westminster Kantorei, performed in the PBS special 'Ode to Joy' and at Spoleto Festival USA, and sang in major concert halls with orchestras such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir. After a stint as Tour Manager at the American Boychoir School in Princeton, Michelle returned to Canada where she currently holds the position of Program Coordinator of Junior School Music at Crofton House School. In her spare time, Michelle also enjoys rowing, camping, reading French literature, and exploring the beauty of West Coast Canada.
